RE: Squeaky travel trailer

when i worked in the truck shop we used a lot of WD-40 and got it on our hands a lot after being away from it a while you could notice the differance in your finger joints getting stiffer i believe it does work for the joints in your hands and fingers its not just a southern thing.

RE: Solar or generator

solar works good for me as long as i dont need to use any AC or microwave i have 160 watts but you need sun and cant park in the shade, winter is differant not enought sun and furnace draws more then solar can put back in.i would have to add more solar for winter use.its always handy to have a generator for back up when needed.

RE: newbie, green as grass, scared to death

it really depends if the previous owner took care of it and kept up on the maintance on it,if they didnt keep up with it it could cost some money to get it back to where you can trust it with out breaking down someplace on the road, breaking down on the road can be more costly then if you just took care of it to begin with, you also might want to think about getting a emergancy tow service like good sam or other company that tows rvs in case you break down towing can be very expensive with out it.it would more then pay for itself with just one tow.

RE: newbie, green as grass, scared to death

being so tall they do give you the feeling its going to tip over sometimes its something you will get used to after a while ,the ford 460 is a good engine they put a ford C-6 transmission in them there a good set up.class Cs are put on a E-350 ford 1 ton van chassie, twin I beams is a ford thing two solid I beams for the front axle that pivots in the middle, have the king pins checked and toe end adjusted.

RE: Gas Gage not working?

its most likely the sender in the tank, as for parts it depends if its a ford fuel tank or a after market larger tank,it would be best to take it out and start at a ford dealer then a auto parts place they do make universal tank senders if you cant find any thing else to fit it.if you have a electric pump in the tank it would be a good time to change it while the tank is down as ford had some problems with them going bad.

RE: You SNOWBIRDS have it too good.

theres places here that have planned actitives but not like down there, most people are not permanent guest they come and go on there vacations theres one place i wouldnt mind staying but its to expensive to stay long periods of time.it can get as hot and humid as florida at times depending on the year, its been in the 80s during the day and down in the 50s at night,it has not hit the 90s here yet but close.you can go up into the mountains higher and it can be cooler .there is realy no summerbird place around here or any place to winter over but they should be, summer rates are to high around here.but there is work camping jobs availble.

RE: Propane line material

soft bendable copper is what they use, rubber can go bad after a few years and leak they dont want rubber any where near flame or pilot lites its a fire hazard.

RE: Painting a propane bottle

a lot of tanks are painted light to medium grey color.leave your tank a light color and use a loose black cover for air curulation.

RE: Generator

most older models you have to plug your shore power cord plugs into a plug near or at your cord storage place depending on the set up.the generator powers the plug in.look for a plug in where your cord storage is.if you have 2 ACs sometimes theres a switch you throw for front or rear AC.

RE: AGE OLD CAT

there is some spray that helps to keep hair from tangling if you use the spray then brush often it helps.its hard to keep a white cat looking clean and white all the time.

RE: remodeling bathroom

dont think theres any books but it would be like remodeling a bath at home,as long as you left the bath tub and toilet in place it wouldnt be to bad just moveing some walls ,toilet goes direct into the top of the black tank that would be some problems moveing. tub maybe be nothing more then water lines and drain pipes going to the grey tank ,it all depends on how they made it.
